During 20 – 22 February , the 3rd edition of the Air Warfare Symposium of the European Air Group (EAG) was hosted by Spanish Air & Space Force at their facilities of the Aerospace Warfare Centre, an activity that began with the welcoming words of the General Andrés Maldonado (SPAF 1* Forum Representative for the EAG).
Attendees belonged to the 7 EAG Nations Air Forces (except The Netherlands), to TLP and USAFE AWC.
The main theme was “analysis and evaluation of performance to enhance multidomain operations”. This was the trigger point to share how each nation analyse and capitalise the different tactics and training, how they evaluate the collective performance of their Air Forces, how to implement their conclusions to adapt their Air Force’s practises in multi-domain operations, particularly, in regards to 4th/5th Gen integration and modern synthetic training.
Other topics were also elaborated and debated such as Red Forces, Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI) and Electronic Warfare. The fruitful discussions will enable us to achieve greater common knowledge, better understanding and progress towards better interoperability; which is one of the main reasons for the existence of the European Air Group.
This has been the 3rd edition and, for the first time, it has been hosted outside EAG building in High Wycombe (UK). EAG PS and also the General Maldonado encouraged all nation representatives to convey to their HQ the idea of bringing the event to their own countries in order to make it more common, frequent, and better known among our airmen.
