Amidst the clamour of VOLCANEX CIS 23, a CIS exercise organised by the EAG in partnership with 90 Signals Unit of the Royal Air Force (RAF) at RAF Leeming, the Distinguished Visitors Day showcased the capabilities of participating air forces’ CIS and Cyber technicians. Esteemed guests, foreign dignitaries and the EAG Deputy Director observed a CIS display using a deployed Federated Mission Network, Tactical Data Links and Cyber multinational cooperation by implementing a first trial of the NATO Agile Combat Employment concept.
In addition, HF and multiband radios complemented with a TETRA system and tactical satellite, showcased advanced technology and CIS personnel demonstrations highlighted tactical prowess. The event served as a test for CIS platform for Air C2 multinational cooperation between EAG nations. Again, the exercise and demonstrations served to remind all participating of the importance of testing interoperability in the CIS and TDL domains.
