The European Air Group, in conjunction with the Royal Air Force (RAF)‘s 90 Signals Unit, have embarked on a significant endeavour to bolster their communication capabilities and readiness through the launch of the VOLCANEX CIS 2023, this year hosted at RAF Leeming. This initiative underscores EAG nation’s commitment to maintaining effective and interoperable communication networks, especially during periods of crisis. The EAG’s VOLCANEX CIS exercise is one of series of exercises aimed at training and integrating CIS technicians from European air forces in order to operate seamlessly in a multi-national exercises and operations.
The Exercise offers a proactive approach to encourage the integration of multinational training with cutting-edge technologies and the development of innovative solutions to address the evolving communication landscape. By fostering collaboration and information sharing, EAG nations aim to stay ahead of the “drag curve” and maintain a communication infrastructure that is robust and adaptable. This week, personnel from Belgium, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Great Britain, and France, belonging to different Communication and Information System domains, deployed to test and improve the resilience of communication systems and technologies.
