The European Air Group (EAG) organised the 2025 Counter small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) Information Exchange Meeting at No. 2 C-UAS Wing, RAF Leeming, United Kingdom, from 07-09 October 2025. This seminar brought together tactical and operational-level Force Protection (FP) practitioners, national representatives, and subject matter experts from across EAG nations, NATO entities, and partner organizations. The event was hosted and supported by No. 2 C-UAS Wing, the RAF’s specialist unit for countering drone threats.
The aim of the EAG C-sUAS Information Exchange Meeting 2025 was to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among operational FP units and staff officers responsible for planning and executing counter-sUAS measures. The event focused on sharing operational insights to support capability development and the refinement of effective Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). It also contributed to the ongoing development of the EAG C-sUAS Handbook for Force Protection Units at the Tactical Level.
Over the course of three days, participants from 12 NATO nations, 10 via military delegation, engaged in national capability briefings, SME talks, live demonstrations, and collaborative workshops focused on the evolving threat landscape, legal frameworks, training, and fixed site defense. Contributions from INTERPOL and EUROCONTROL provided valuable perspectives on law enforcement, drone threats to civil aviation and civil-military coordination. Syndicate-led discussions generated actionable recommendations for future updates to the EAG C-sUAS Handbook. The event also highlighted shared challenges and areas for future development, including legal authorities, electromagnetic spectrum management and cost-effective system integration. Red teaming back briefs offered practical insights into current mitigation strategies and emphasized the importance of layered defense, agile decision-making, and realistic testing. JAPCC and NLR raised awareness of the NATO C-UAS Fundamentals Course and the C-UAS Planning and Visualization Tool (CPVT), highlighting opportunities for standardized training, operational planning support, and reinforcing NATO’s broader efforts to harmonize capability development and knowledge sharing across the Alliance.
