On 09 May 2023, the European Air Group (EAG) had the pleasure of hosting a Flight Safety Management System Seminar. Subject Matter Experts from all EAG Air Forces met at RAF High Wycombe (FRA joined by VTC) to identify, discuss, share best practices and explore areas of cooperation in the Safety Management System (SMS) field.
Discussions included each nation´s current situation in the establishment of an efficient Flight (Air) Safety Management System, the work being done, elements that have been considered and/or implemented (including specific tools and the promotion of Air Safety), the desired output of implementing this system and what has been actually achieved.
The attending nations found the EAG Seminar very beneficial; through initiatives like this and by putting experiences together, national European systems might be further harmonised and improved and may also trigger other areas of cooperation in the Flight (Air) Safety domain.
